Basilkami
Dragon/Fighting
100/94/92/50/92/57
Ability 1: Thick Fat
Ability 2: Gluttony
Ability 3: No Guard
Overview:
Basilkami is a very unique sunmon. It's toned defences allow it to act as a very impressive pivot, as it blends very well with his dragon typing. It's access to Belly Drum allows it to really put a dent in slower, more defensive teams. Basilkami's speed is very unimpressive, and can sometimes hinder it in battle. It's 4x weakness to fairy can also present a problem as not only does it tend to narrow down it's movepool, it also makes it more incline to 50/50 predictions.
Belly Drum:
Move 1: Belly Drum Item: Salac Berry
Move 2: Drain Punch Ability: Gluttony
Move 3: Dragon Claw Nature: Jolly
Move 4: Heavy Slam EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 SpDef / 252 Spe
Moves:
Belly drum allows you to max your attack stat and become a real force to be reckoned with, thus allowing you to really hammer down on walls. Drain Punch provides you with recovery and a decent stab move to spam. Dragon Claw is a powerful stab that you have access to, however you can use outrage for maximum damage, although this is not advised. Heavy slam prevents any fairy from hard walling you and allows you to kill them otherwise.
Set Details:
A maximum investment in speed allows Basilkami to out speed anything slower than seanobi's 111 speed tier. Gluttony makes this set work, as it allows your salac berry to activate earlier than it would normally so it can activate at the same as you belly drum. 252 attack allows you to inevitably one hit ko a vast majority of the tier with ease. You can run adamant for more power however this makes you a lot more susceptible to revenge killers, this being said it makes breaking stall teams a lot easier.
Usage Tips:
Due to Basilkami's many resists and natural bulk it can threaten a lot of mons to switch, and in doing this it provides you to set up. Much more passive walls such as Detritusk can't do anything to Basilkami, other than toxic if it has it. Basilkami can act as a late game sweeper and clean up late games so it may be wise to save it until you've weakened, and taken out some things on your opponents team. Basilkami is to be played offensive, as it doesn't have any repercussions from doing so.
Team Options:
Good options for basilkami normally get rid of anything that can potentially pose a threat to it. Surveillock and do this by trapping any psychic types that may want to revenge kill it, Seanobi is also a good option as it can lure grass, and electric types that may attempt to wall it and proceed to give it an opportunity to set up. Hydrapede is also a good option as it can clean fairies for it and also weaken some teams. Spike stack also helps weaken the enemy team and can always give Basilkami an opportunity to set up during their attempt to remove the hazards. Sticky webs can provide speed control and allow Basilkami to really run an adamant nature, and kill everything on the opponents team.
Assault Vest:
Move 1: Dynamic Punch/Close Combat Item: Assault Vest
Move 2: Knock Off Ability: No Guard/Thick Fat
Move 3: Dragon Rush/Dragon Claw Nature: Adamant
Move 4: Heavy Slam EVs: 212 HP/ 252 Atk/ 44 Spe
Moves:
Dynamic punch provides Basilkami with an extremely spamable, and powerful fighting stab. In doing that it makes it very painful to deal with, alternatively if using thick fat as a more defensive option you could use Close Combat to really hammer down. Knock Off allows Basilkami to prevent psychics, and ghosts from switching in to easily and can allow it to One v One more defensive pokemon easier. Dragon Rush for a spamable stab option that does much more than dragon claw. Heavy slam allows you to punish fairies that may believe they can switch in freely.
Set Details:
With 44 Speed Effort Values you can out speed uninvested based 62's with ease. 212 HP EVs allow it to maximise on it's bulkiness, and in doing so it can act as a very nice pivot as it resists a very nice combination of types. 252 Attack EVs allows it to really show it self off as an offensive option. You can use Thick Fat to allow yourself to endure more ice attacks and fire attacks thus proving to be a better defensive pivot and when combined with an assault vest it proves to be a very tanky mon and very difficult to KO.
Usage Tips:
When using this set you don't want to play too aggressive, instead to want to use it as a support mon which proves to be a very nice pivot allowing your other pokemon to really get in an advantageous position. You want to use this mon to slowly weaken other mons and instead of offensively forcing other mons, you want to defensively force them out by walling their main attempts of attack. You will need to predict heavily with this set but predicting correctly can allow a very good reward.
Team Options:
Seanobi is an excellent option with basilkami as it can be used as a pivot to allow seanobi to set up. Not only this but it can lure in the psychics for pokemon like shadoweep to kill. A wish clerric like Hajimi is very good as it can provide offensive pressure, Haremi is also a good wish passer for Basilkami as it really allows your team to get a nice defensive momentum. Haremi can also provide a heal bell for any potential statuses this mon may endure. Voltturn cores such as Caviapse and Soariant really can use basilkami defensively as it can give your team a really good offensive momentum and force opposing mons out.
Checks and Counters:
Choice Scarf Users: Anything scarfed will outspeed this pokemon and revenge kill any of it's sets.
Haremi: Haremi can prove to be a real problem as it can switch into basilkami easily 9/10
Status: Basilkami really needs cleric support or else status from pokemon like ambiggle may prove to be a problem as they outspeed all its sets.
Moonsoon: Moonsoon really can stall out and wall all of basilkamis sets and prove to be an extreme problem for it.
